Epilogue

Having been given what I believe is the insight of God to write this commentary, I know I have been blessed more than anyone who will ever read it. However, I trust anyone reading it understands he will have to reread it numerous times to fully understand its contents. That is why I have purposefully kept it free of references to those myriads of writers who have preceded me in exposing the contents of this of the Revelation given to the apostle John on the isle of Patmos. By leaving out the myriad of comments made by others on the book, I have been able to keep it relatively short. It is not this commentary that will be so difficult to follow. Rather it is the subject matter of this commentary that is clouded in symbols, types, and mysterious truths that must be understood in light of the dozens of prophecies which preceded it both in the Old and the New Testaments. If you have spent years reading the Revelation, trying to make sense of it all, I believe this commentary will do a great deal to help you achieve that end. If you are a new Christian, I believe this commentary will get you well on your way to understanding one of the most difficult prophetic books ever given to man.

In thirty-five years as a Christian, I have read countless commentaries on the Revelation and end time prophecy. Most of them were excellent, considering the time period in which they were written. I believe this one is both timely and more practical than any which preceded it. I have made it my priority to base all I know about God on what I have read in His word. I have attended Bible College where I quickly learned I would be taught what others thought about what God said, not what God said. I have attended seminary where I learned the same thing. I got saved in 1972, after spending a year on a spiritual trek searching for eternal truth. I began my intense study of the bible the day after I got saved and have continued in that vane faithfully for thirty-five years.

Usually, I discover about five years after God reveals something from His word to me that He has revealed that same truth to some highly respected bible scholar. Consequently, I am taking this opportunity to write this exposition and put it on the Christian market for critique by any who would care to challenge any of my conclusions. I believe it is the first such commentary that takes all of the appropriate verses of scripture, weaves them together as they were intended to be woven, and draws the only logical conclusions from the resulting tapestry. I am not a scholar by anyone’s definition. I am a humble lifelong student and teacher of history in the public school system. I am also a pastor/teacher of a new non-denominational home based Christian fellowship. I’m currently involved in a jail ministry in a small rural community in America and a counseling ministry to several of those same inmates each week. I have written numerous books, bible studies, exposés, commentaries, and articles on a variety of bible subjects.

If you have any questions for me, I would be pleased to try answering them for you. The frustration that continually haunts me daily is my miserable inability to communicate effectively the myriad of truths God gives to me as I read and study His word to those who are willing to listen to me teach and preach or read what I write. I cannot adequately express that frustration. God has so burdened my heart to communicate His truth that I spend an inordinate amount of time daily at my computer writing. Sometimes this burden alienates me from the one on this planet I love almost more than life itself. My constant prayer is that I will not ever take her love and affection for granted. She is the second light of my life. Jesus is the first. I pray God will bless you richly for having read this commentary; and I pray He will give you the desire to read it over and over until it makes sense, if it didn’t the first time through.

And now, “The Lord bless you and keep you; the Lord make His face shine on you, and be gracious to you; the Lord lift up His countenance on you and give you peace.” (Numbers 6:24, 25) Amen!

If I can be of personal assistance to help you understand this or any other part of God’s word, please feel free to contact me, either by phone, email, or the regular postal service. It is my most fervent desire and the number one priority of life to preach the word, in season and out of season, and to be ready to make a defense to anyone who ask me to give an account for the hope that is in me. God Bless!
